Foi Thong literally means "golden threads" and is a classic Thai dessert made from sugared egg yolk threads. It is made from duck or chicken egg yolk, which is poured in fine lines into hot sugar syrup – creating the silky, golden threads that are considered a symbol of wealth and long life in Thailand.

Application:

• Ready to eat – as a sweet snack, on rice cakes, at ceremonies or as a festive decoration

• Popular in Thailand for special occasions such as weddings, temple ceremonies or birthdays

• Also as a filling for sweet pastries (e.g. in Roti Sai Mai or golden rolls)
